Dallas

Dallas is a vibrant and diverse city known for its world-class museums, thriving arts scene, and home to the world famous Dallas Cowboys. The City of Dallas is part of the largest metropolitan area in the southern United States and it is the largest inland metropolitan area in the US without a navigable link to the sea. The City of Dallas is the county seat of Dallas County with some portions of the city extending into Collin, Denton, Kaufman and Rockwall counties. Sometime in the first half of the 20th century, Dallas gained the nickname of “Big D” and Bing Crosby popularized Big D, when he sang the song: “Big D, little A, double L-A-S. The Dallas metro area currently has over 8 million people, with more than 1.3 million of the population residing inside the city limits of the city. Dallas/Ft. Worth is the 4th largest metropolitan area in the United States, behind New York, Los Angeles and Chicago.
