Located in Northwest Collin County, with a portion of the city residing in Denton County, to the west, Celina (pronounced sil-EYE-nuh) has been named the fastest growing city in North Texas. Celina which is north of Prosper, has a projected buildout population of approximately 378,000 people and currently has a population of 58,000. The population of Celina has increased by 227.35% since the most recent census, which recorded a population of 17,702 in 2020.
